I am finally back in the house this morning. I had chickens to sell to a man from Milwaukee. He frequently calls to see if I have any roosers for sale. I heard of some and picked them up yesterday. Dumb me--told him that they were 6 bucks each. I paid 5 for them. Then I calculated and only sold them for 5! I swear I have a brain problem when it comes to money sometimes! So, I did all this work and made no money...actuall I will have to pay some out--he didn't want some of the birds because they were too small! So now I have more birds to feed and I have to pay for them anyhow! Oh brother...I am disgusted!
Well it is so cold out today -11, I certainly do not want to do anything outside! Toilet is frozen again--not unusual. At least my feet are thawing out and the puppies are asleep. I need to go and clean their pen so they can mess it up again. Work and more work...

I totally understand all the work stuff involved in farming. I also have a small scale farm. Lots of work and I loose money all the time. Last year, I ended up selling my turkeys and not calulating the increase of grain cost. Didn't make a thing off of them. What a waste from a business point of view. WOW! So you are not the only one. Tell the guy that didn't want the chickens because they are too small, to try raising his own and feeding them to that point. Let him see how hard it is and that SIZE doesn't matter. I get that all the time with my eggs. If they only knew the reality of animals. You get what you get. It's not man made so there is NO CONTROL. - Tri-Colored Paws
